Adults staying overnight with at Cub World must be registered members of your Pack, not just members of the BSA.
* The only exception to this rule is if the adult is the parent or court ordered legal guardian of a child attending.
Cub World Adult Leadership Checklist
Adult leaders attending camp need to complete all of the below requirements, unless they are the parent or court ordered legal guardian of a youth attending.
Unregistered parents cannot provide adult leadership to other youth and are still strongly encouraged to complete Youth Protection Training.
Below is checklist for all other adults attending:
- Does your Pack have enough leadership? If you are bringing youth without parent/guardians, 2- 21+ registered adult leaders must be in attendance. If female youth are present without a parent, at least one 21+ female registered adult leader present. Units with more than 8 scouts are encouraged to bring an additional adult leader for every 4 youth over the initial 8.
- Are your adult leaders registered members of your unit? There are several options for registering adults with your troop. They could be registered as Asst. Scoutmasters or Committee Members.
- Have the listed adults completed all required training and paperwork?
- Youth Protection Training
- Completing a BSA Application (paper or online)
- Completing a BSA Criminal Background Check form (paper or online)
- Getting signatures from Unit Leader and Charter Org Representative (paper or online)
- At least one adult needs to complete the Medication Administration Training
- BSA Medical Form AB required for all attendees
- How are the adults paying for membership?
- Some units sponsor registration fees.
- Ensure there is there enough money at your council service center to cover the cost of their BSA Registration
- Send a payment with their registration paperwork to cover the cost of the registration
- Some units make adult registration an individual responsibility
- If registering online, they can pay online when completing online paperwork
- If registering by paper, ensure they know the cost and where to submit payment (it may be to unit or to council service center directly)
- Some units sponsor registration fees.
- Have you received confirmation that the criminal background check and membership paperwork has been approved?
