Ways To Volunteer

It Takes a Village!

The Scouting program would not be possible without the support and involvement of thousands of volunteers giving their time and talent to the enrichment of youth.
If you are not yet a volunteer—but are interested in becoming one—there are several pathways to get involved.

Scout Leaders
Scout leaders serve in one of the BSA’s most important role.  They directly mentor youth and make a difference in the lives of millions
    •    Cubmasters
    •    Scoutmasters
    •    Crew Advisors
The BSA is committed to child safety and ensuring that every youth has a positive experience in Scouting. Before assigning an adult to a leadership position, a background check is performed.  Adult volunteers are required to take Youth Protection Training.  Our youth deserve trained leaders so adult volunteers also take New Leader Training in order to implement a quality program.

Administrative Roles
We are always in need of active and engaged volunteers lending their expertise and leadership to advance the council’s mission.
    •    board members
    •    unit committee members
    •    merit badge counselors
    •    special event committee member

As Needed
You can volunteer even if you don’t have a lot of time to commit. Help supervise a field trip, prepare lunch at a day camp, work at an event registration table, or do any number of small tasks help Scouting in your community.
