Business Career Exploring
Business Career Exploring is a hands-on program open to young men and women 14-20 years old with an interest in the many functional areas within a business, including Sales/Marketing, Operations, Finance/Accounting, Customer Service, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
You will network with business professionals who work in these careers every day - they are using the latest technology, they are aware of emerging trends, they know what it takes to get into college for their specific career. You will learn about the educational requirements for a career in Business and will receive tangible advice on steps you could take now to prepare and position yourself for a successful career in the field of Business.
220 LEADERSHIP – POST #220 (SECOND-TO-NONE SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP)
Matthew and Joseph Moheban, Founders of 220, will help Explorers interested in social entrepreneurship create a business around their passion(s) and develop critical intangible skills through the process. This opportunity is for youth from ages 14-20. This all-virtual program will take place every other week for 60 minutes on the following themes:
Session 1: Discover Your Passions (Self-Efficacy)
Session 2: Design Your Ultimate Life (Unrealistic Vision)
Session 3: Brainstorm Business Ideas (Design Thinking)
Session 4: Business Model Canvas (Writing a Business Plan)
Session 5: Develop Your Ideal Client Template (Marketing)
Session 6: Pitch Deck Creation (Formatting & Other Content Creation Skills)
Session 7: 12-week Sprints (Goal Setting & Reverse Engineering)
Session 8: Critical Activities (Leaving Your Comfort Zone)
Session 9: TBD: Pitch Competition and Banquet in Chicago or Indianapolis

ELI LILLY & CO. – POST #642 (BUSINESS AND ACCOUNTING)
This program provides insight into general business concepts from accounting and marketing to interview skills and investing. We utilize multiple presenters with various backgrounds throughout the program, so each session comes with a unique tone and perspective on business. Additionally, the presenters are often young professionals who have recently completed their college education and are not too far removed from the college/ career exploration and selection process.
The post will meet October through May at Lilly Corporate Center, usually the third Tuesday of each month from 7:00-8:30PM, and we offer a year-end job shadow opportunity as well.

MT. VERNON COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION – POST #3135 (ALL CAREERS)
Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation is partnering with Exploring to give youth the chance to learn about many different career fields.
There will be one guest speaker/topic per month and they will talk as well as have hands on activities.
