Jamboree Adult Leader Qualifications:

  • Must have had experience as a registered Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster for at least one year.
  • Have a firm understanding of the "patrol method" and be able to implement it.
  • Be a positive role model for Scouts and other adult leaders.
  • Be able to attend all scheduled Jamboree contingent meetings and Jamboree troop meetings.
  • Be able to attend the entire Jamboree experience with the contingent.
  • Be current in Youth Protection Training and be trained for your position in Scouting.
  • Must complete an interview conducted by the Mountaineer Area Council's adult selection committee.
  • Must maintain a current registration in the Mountaineer Area Council and be approved by the Scout Executive.
  • Must meet all physical qualifications set by the National Scout Jamboree and have a completed Annual Health & Medical Record.

Interviews will occur on a rolling basis as applications are submitted with the goal of selecting all adult positions by the end of 2019.  Once selected, adult leaders will be expected to make their registration deposit of $200 and meet all payment deadlines.
