Mountaineer Area Council

2024 Distinguished Honorees

The Mountaineer Area Council Distinguished Citizen Dinner is the premiere fundraising event in support of Scouting America programs in north central West Virginia. Not only does it celebrate amazing leaders and organizations in our state, but will also showcase educators and others who are making a difference in our communities. The event will feature entertainment, live and silent auctions, a delicious meal, cash bar and more.

This is your opportunity to make a difference and support 1,000 youth involved in Scouting America in north central West Virginia.  Through the Scouting programs, each youth develops leadership skills, positive character, citizenship, and personal fitness.  With the help of hundreds of registered adult volunteers, Scouts log service hours throughout our communities and participate in countless day, weekend, or week-long events.  In 2023, 28 Scouts earned Scouting America's highest rank of Eagle Scout.

Past honorees include George R. Farmer Jr., E. Gordon Gee, David C. Hardesty Jr., Bob Huggins, Hershel "Woody" Williams, David Alvarez, Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, Ben Hardesty, Mon Health System, Amy Bush, Antero Resources, Jeff Hostetler, and Diversified Energy.
