This Scholarship Application has been turned off because all 2020 summer camp programs have been cancelled.
NOTE: This funding is available to NEIC Youth only. If you have any questions about the scholarship process, contact our Scout Executive at Nick.Roberts@scouting.org. If you need to amend your responses after you've submitted your scholarship application, contact our Program Assistant, Debi.Geiger@scouting.org. They are the only two council employees who have access to this confidential information.
You must submit one application per program (example: if your child is attending two weeks of camp, you must fill the application out twice). If you have more than one Scout needing financial assistance, you must complete an application for each Scout.
Scholarship awards are not guaranteed.
REGISTER EARLY FOR THE EVENT: FOR THE 2020 SEASON, WE HAVE APPLIED THE EARLY BIRD RATE TO ALL PROGRAMS. We still encourage you to register for the event/program early. Select the "pay later" option at checkout.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS
- Starting in February, scholarships application data will be downloaded on Mondays (or Tuesdays, if we are closed on a Monday), by the Program Assistant. This process may be delayed 1-2 weeks due to COVID-19.
- This information will be shared with our Scout Executive and 1 or 2 key volunteers to finalize amounts approved.
- Families will be notified of the approved amounts by email or mail within that week.
- Once the Scout is registered online, the scholarship payment will be applied to that particular Scout's camp fees. Contact Debi at debi.geiger@scouting.org if you have questions about registering online without paying.
REGISTRATION BALANCE: It is the family's responsibility to pay the balance for the event in a timely manner.
- For Camps @ MSR: Pay your unit's Camp Contact person (or treasurer if so directed).
- For Cub Scout Camps: Pay the balance online with a credit/debit card, or by check to the council office, unless your pack registered the scout and provides other payment directions.
- For Scouts attending MSR as Provisional Scouts: If you completed the registration, you can pay the balance online, but if your Scout was registered by a troop that is hosting him/her, find out how they want you to pay the balance.

"WHAT I DID AT CAMP": We ask that any Scout who receives a scholarship write a note about their time at camp. We understand that financial situations are sensitive and private, so instead of asking your Scout to write a thank you note for the scholarship, we ask them to write a note about what they learned at camp, what they did, etc. We also love drawings about and pictures of their time at camp! We will pass them along to those who give generously each year to our scholarship funds. Feel free to e-mail them to Debi Geiger or send them by mail to Debi's attention. Writing about the fun they had can help make them lifetime memories, appreciate the experience even more, and as a bonus, it will be great practice in penmanship.
