Nomination Procedure and Description of Awards

Except for the District Award of Merit, all individual awards (including the youth awards) use this form. The District Award of Merit requires a separate nomination form (https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/33720.pdf) due to the District Committee Chair on January 31, 2024.

Nominations for the Spirit of Scouting Award, Outstanding Scouts (in Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, and Venturing), and Outstanding Eagle Scout Project should be submitted before February 15, 2024.

Spirit of Scouting Award

Presented to an individual or group who has shown extraordinary Scouting Spirit through ongoing efforts or on a specific project. The recognition will be a distinctive Monticello District Spirit of Scouting certificate.
 

Monticello District Outstanding Scout Award

This award is presented to the outstanding youth(s) in the Monticello District who have performed above and beyond the call of duty in service to Scouting, community, church, and/or the district.
Nominations:
Each Scouting unit may nominate one (1) youth. The unit leader and the committee chairperson must approve the nomination. Preferably, the Scout attended a Council Summer Camp, Day Camp, or other Council activity, and for Scouts BSA and Venturing, the Scout participated in at least one event outside of the unit (e.g. Staffing an O/A Ordeal, Den Chief, Camporee staff.)
 

Outstanding Eagle Project Award

Presented to recognize valuable service of an exceptional nature by an Eagle Scout candidate to a religious institution, a school, community, or other entity through the completion of an Eagle Scout project in the 2023 calendar year.
 

Unit Scouter/Volunteer of the Year Awards

This award is presented to a Unit Scouter or Volunteer based on their noteworthy service to your unit over the last chartered year. The definition of unit scouter or volunteer is a person, a couple, a business; whomever you feel has provided noteworthy service to the Pack, Troop, Crew, or Post. Remember this award can be given to someone who is not a registered leader.
