Hahobas Property  is located near Tahuya, Washington, on 120 acres above Hood Canal surrounded by Department of Natural Resources property with miles of hiking trails. This primitive camping property offers the perfect opportunity to teach your older Scouts wilderness camping using the principles of Leave No Trace.

As a primitive camp, there is no potable water available, you will need to bring your own. Also, everything you pack in, you must pack out.

Reservations are available for troops and crews bringing youth least 11 years old & up or 10 years & have earned Arrow of Light.

This property has a reservation limit of 3 units.

Reservations may be made no earlier than 60 days prior to use.

Pacific Harbors Council reserves the right to cancel reservations at any time.

 

RESERVATION FEES:

  • Weekend Camping (Friday - Sunday) - $50.00
  • Week Camping (Monday - Sunday) - $200.00
  • Lost Key Fee (no deposit) - $100.00

 

 

CAMP USE POLICY:

The rules for use of Hahobas Property are based on the Scout Oath and Law. Please keep them in mind at all times. Specifically, the following rules are in effect:

  • All youth and adult participants must be registered with BSA.
  • All participants must be at least 11 years old & up, or 10 years & AOL completion.
  • Limit of 20 people attending your reservation.
  • A roster of all participants must be provided to the Pacific Harbors Council office.
  • Camping and parking must be within the campsite/parking area within the boundaries shown on the camp map. Do not park on DNR land.
  • The gate must be locked behind you each time you enter/exit the property.
  • Hiking is permitted on DNR property. 
  • Potable water is not available on site. You must bring your own water.
  • Do not drink or cook with lake water.
  • Lake water must be boiled before use in dishwashing and cleaning.
  • The outhouses that remain on Camp Hahobas property may be used. You are responsible for bringing your own toilet paper and ensuring the outhouse is clean after use.
  • Do not enter buildings on DNR property. There are significant safety issues and must be avoided.
  • The Bear Bowl (campfire area) is available for unit campfire programs.
  • Alcoholic beverages and other controlled substances are prohibited on Scout outings and BSA property.

 

Please practice the Outdoor Code conservation is a part of Scouting. Pre-approved service projects are encouraged. 

  • Leave your camp area, outhouses, and other facilities cleaner than you found it. Pack in/Pack out.
  • Do not to cut down standing trees, create new trails, litter, or conduct yourselves in a manner inconsistent with current conservation practices. 
  • Camp is for wildlife, not pets. Please leave pets at home.

SAFETY POLICY:

  • All activities must follow the BSA Guide to Safe Scouting. https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/gss/
  • All accidents which require a doctor or emergency medical services must be reported to Pacific Harbors Council.
  • Fires must be in established fire pits and attended at all times and be out cold when your campsite is left unattended. Please follow the BSA Unit Fireguard Plan.
  • Think safety. Educate our Scouts about the dangers associated with stone throwing, running downhill, misuse of wood tools, and other inherently hazardous activities.

  • Groups will conform with all BSA Safe Swim and Safety Afloat rules when conducting swimming or aquatics activities. Lifeguards will not be provided by the council.
  • Shooting sports are prohibited.

RESERVATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Complete information below and submit this online form.
  2. The following documents must be signed and sent to Pacific Harbors Council, 4802 S. 19th Street, Tacoma, WA 98405
  • Hahobas Property Use Agreement and Hold Harmless Agreement
  • Make payment to Pacific Harbors Council at least 7 days prior to arrival.

  • Roster of all youth and adults attending. Must be BSA registered and at least 11 years old or 10 years and earned Arrow of Light.

REFUND POLICY:

  • All cancellations and/or refund requests for activities should be submitted in writing to the Creighton Scout Service Center at 4802 South 19th St, Tacoma, WA 98405, or emailed to cindy.iversen@scouting.org
  • Refunds are based on the date the written request is received at the Creighton Scout Service Center.
  • Requests received two weeks (10 business days) or more prior to an event will receive a full refund.
  • Requests received from 5 to 9 business days before the event will receive a 50% refund.
  • No refunds are available 4 or fewer business days prior to an event.
  • The Council may make exceptions in the case of family emergency, sickness, or changes in military duty.
