Mitigwa Scout Reservation

Camp Service Award

Application opens March 1st and closes April 15th

Created in 2022 to commemorate the 100th summer of continuous operation and to celebrate the 2023 centennial anniversary, the Camp Service Award is the highest honor awarded by the Mid Iowa Council for service provide directly to the Mitigwa Scout Reservation. Nominations are for any registered adult Scouter that has made considerable contributions to the success of the reservation in providing a premiere Scouting experience. Considerable contributions are measured in contributions to camp program, facilities, and promotion. Staff of Mid Iowa Council, including camp staff, field staff, and support staff are eligible for this award for exceptional service and length of tenure. Other service may be included in the nomination, but contributions to camp will be the determining criteria. Nominations should include a cover letter, with general information about the nominee, and the nomination form. Awardees will be announced at the June Friends & Alumni Celebration, with conferring of special plaques made from Mitigwa wood. No more than ten Camp Service Awards will be awarded in one year. The committee reserves the right to not grant the award if a insufficient number or quality of nominations is not received. A selection committee will be convened by the current Reservation Director, composed of no fewer than 5 previous award recipients.
