Good Turn for Nature - Council Fall Service Initiative
September 10 - October 23, 2022
(In partnership with The Nature Conservancy, Indiana DNR, and COPE Environmental Center)

We welcome your unit to participate in this year's 5th Anniversary of GTN.   This is a great way to get Scouts outside to learn about the importance of caring for nature and engaging them directly in acts of conservation. There are several projects at parks, nature centers or natural areas that still need help.  Service projects may include: Trail maintenance, tree planting, invasive species removal, bird identification, trash cleanup and more!

Participating host organizations
Hosts that have a specific date listed (in the drop down menu below) are looking for help on that day.  Hosts without a date, means you can choose your preferred date.

Camp overnight at participating state parks (optional)
This campout opportunity is for Scouts BSA Units of 10+ people who complete a Good Turn for Nature service project with a minimum of 4 work hours. The unit will receive a ‘pay one night, get one night free’ camping trip at the host site where the service project is conducted.
Note: Camping options may be provided for Cub Scout units who would like to do bigger projects, but the criteria of 10+ people and a minimum of 4 work hours remains the same. Younger aged groups will be required to contact the host site to work out project details.

Linking units to host organizations
Once we have the completed committment form, we will match your unit with a host organization.  Units will be matched in the order that they are received.  When we match your unit with a host organization, you will be put in contact with them to figure out the details.

Thank you for your unit's committment!
